Job: Rooberry LLC

My company Rooberry LLC functions as a technology, training, and business consulting service for school districts and small businesses. I normally work very closely with school leaders or business owners to clearly identify their challenges. I work to break out organizational challenges from technical challenges. I provide relief to the organization by crafting technology solutions that are either easier, more time-efficient, more power, or all of the options.

While I worked as a consultant for the North Chicago Schools, I provided technology support and in-person training services for 200+ teachers and 10+ schools. I used focused, data-driven analytics techniques to growth their web traffic 300% to over 120,000 visits a year.

I primarily develop web solutions using PHP, MySQL, AJAX via jQuery, CSS, Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Fireworks, however, I also have training using ASP .Net, and C#.

Job: Whitefish Bay High School

From August 2010 until August 2012, I was the Computer Science and Digital Music Teacher at Whitefish Bay High School in a small suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During my tenure, I authored and implemented a Java-based computer science curriculum using Processing. My students learned core programming techniques in Beginning Programming, and object-oriented skills in Intermediate Programming.

I developed the course materials and instructional techniques for a semester long hybrid course on Microsoft Office Skills–a required course at the high school. Hybrid courses are taught part via an instructor, and part online. I leveraged Moodle 1.9 to deliver interactive lessons, structured forums, formative and summative assessments, and video resources.

I also taught two sections of Digital Music, where I worked with young musicians to write and arrange music using Garageband and Logic.  We discussed the elements of music–melody, harmony, rhythm, form, and expression–by creating broad styles of compositions. For a constructivist, creating music as a method of exploring music was the best way to teach!

Additionally, I provided professional development training to teaching staff in online learning and web analytics. My technology skills and differentiated instruction training have allowed me to use a wide variety of tools to create innovative instructional materials using Moodle , eXe, Jing / Camtasia, Quicktime X, Handbrake, Garageband, Logic Express, and Processing.
